Ashley Reid is a birth doula and professional writer living in the mountains near Asheville, North Carolina. Ten years ago, she was forever changed by motherhood and became enchanted by the primordial magic of pregnancy and birth. Through her own experiences and countless heartfelt experiences with others, Ashley came to see that every birth unfolds in its own way, each one powerful, unpredictable, and deeply personal. These moments revealed how vital it is for every pregnant person to feel heard, seen, and supported during pregnancy, birth, and the tender days that follow.

Intrinsically attuned to the needs and emotions of those around her, Ashley offers grounded,compassionate support to families as they navigate this sacred transition. Her goal is to help create a birthing environment rooted in safety, trust, and honesty, where your voice is central.

She believes that when people feel informed and empowered, they can birth with confidence and peace, no matter where or how their story unfolds. A lifelong learner, Ashley continually expands her knowledge and skills to best serve the families she supports by blending evidence-based guidance with intuition and heart.

At home, she finds joy in the simple rhythms of mountain life with her two wonderfully feral children. You’ll often find her outside watching the clouds drift by, or writing, but never without a good book and strong coffee.
