Meet Isabel:

Isabel Ward

Birth Doula

(828) 606-0618 | isabelward00@gmail.com

I am a native to Hendersonville, NC, and serve both the Henderson County and Buncombe County communities. I am a birth-doula who offers prenatal, birth, and immediate postpartum care and support. I have worked with children, adolescent parents, and growing families for over 10 years in various capacities including childcare, social work, parent education, and doula work. I have a Bachelors in Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Child, Youth, and Family Development.

I feel passionately that every pregnant/birthing person deserves comprehensive healthcare - including birth justice, informed consent, evidence-based research, information, and education, empowering birthing people and their chosen families, inclusive, trauma-informed birthwork, and being in tune with our bodies and nervous systems.

My goal is to serve and create a safe space for all family structures, including those in LGBTQIA2s+ communities. My work in advocacy, empowerment, and education are based in the belief that the inclusivity of empathy, anti-racism, and harm reduction define the experience of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I offer up to my clients the ability to listen, find humor in any circumstance, empathize with grief and pain, create comfort, bring forth positive light, and provide tough love when necessary. I express and feel love through cooking and eating a good meal, reading, playing and listening to music, hiking, surrounding myself with friends and family, and my cat, Hobbes.
