Bodywork in Pregnancy & Postpartum

How's your body feeling?

We wish that bodywork was an integral part of perinatal health care, but unfortunately it's not. Bodywork has the power to impact how you feel during pregnancy, how you labor during birth, and the state of your body postpartum, no matter how your birth unfolds.

We also know it can be hard to know where to get started when approaching bodywork. It's so important to trust your bodywork providers, as you are trusting them with your own body!

Our goal is to make bodywork an accessible and reliable part of perinatal care. We want to take the guesswork out of who to go to, what services to ask for, and how to develop a plan to treat your ails and feel comfortable and confident in your bodywork plan.

We know this is a big task, and here's how we're starting:

Here's More Bodywork Options:

You'll begin with an initial visit (between 90-120min) to get to know one another, and then put together a support plan, including dietary & lifestyle recommendations, personalized herbal protocols & dosage for you moving forward, and a detailed treatment plan for acupuncture moving forward!

Looking For More Support?

A well-rounded support team will ultimately lead to a better understanding of what your body needs, both in times of health and pain. Check out these additional resources to support your physical well-being:

  • Numerous studies show that doulas hugely impact labor outcomes - having a doula on your birth team reduces the overall cesarean rate by 50% and the length of labor by 25% - but did you know that our Doula Collective has support for postpartum as well as birth and prenatal care? That means our doulas are here to help you out with everything from labor to full nights of sleep after having baby. Check out our site, or visit us at our next Meet the Doula night, to learn more!

  • Are you looking for a specific movement practice to help with your shoulders, hips, pelvis, or sciatica? We have a variety of on-demand offerings for immediate access to flows to help you right away!

  • We also want to offer our free community resources as a space to learn more about infertility, body image in pregnancy and postpartum, and postpartum care. There's also a free wind-down flow that's perfect for soothing your nerves at the end of a long day!

Let us take some of the decision-making out of choosing a support team for your body, no matter what stage of life you are in. We're here to support YOU as you proactively take care of your body - we look forward to seeing you soon!
