Birth Partner Tip: Presence + Observation = Birth Support Gold ✨

You’ve taken the childbirth class, read the books… and still feel nervous as hell. That’s normal!

The truth is—you can’t predict exactly what your partner will need in labor. But there are two things that will always matter:

1️⃣ Presence
Be there. Really there. Hold their ✋🏽, breathe with them, let your body communicate calm and steadiness.
As humans, our mirror neurons tune into those around us—your closeness matters more than you think. In birth, 3 feet away can feel like a mile. Get close. Ground yourself. Steady your breath so they can feel your support through each surge.

2️⃣ Observation
Attune to their cues. Watch, listen, notice.
➡️ How did they cope through that contraction?
➡️ Are they holding tension?
➡️ Breathing or bracing?

If you touch their shoulders and they soften…amazing, you’re in! If you see them tense, offer your steady breath and presence instead of instructions.

Birth support is less about doing and more about being.
Stay present. Keep observing. That’s how you meet your partner exactly where they are. ❤️
