⇻ Complete a DONA-approved birth doula workshop

⇻ Complete an approved childbirth education course
Tip: Our Embodied Birth Worker Training includes approved childbirth education, so, if you’ve done our training, you’ve completed this step as well!
Looking for a training that includes an approved childbirth education course? Check out our trainings and register today!
⇻ Complete an approved lactation support course
Tip: Find a lactation support course through DONA, making sure that it’s at least 3 hours
⇻ Attend and document three birth support experiences

Tip: You need two position papers and four books to complete this requirement.
⇻ Complete a self-assessment questionnaire and a resource & referral list for your community
Tip: The self-assessment is in your DONA Doula Manual.
⇻ Register as a DONA International member at dona.org
⇻ Submit the application with all required documents & pay the fee.
